Helena Bonham Carter, whose most recent gown at the Golden Globes was panned by many critics (I personally get her style) recently had this to say about
"I think fashion has been hijacked by the fashion industry creating rules on what one should wear and I feel like breaking the mold and seeing that the world won't crumble," Helena Bonham Carter.
Well, after the brouhaha over first lady Michelle Obama, not wearing an American designer at the last state dinner, she may have a point about the fashion industry and rules. Though as more fashion stylist/bloggers emerge and personal style is celebrated more...maybe the fashion industry's hold on what is "in" is loosening a bit...

though the ultimate decision lies with fashion editors and buyers who decide what items will trend any given season...what are your thoughts?

i think anyone should not be persecuted with what they're wearing. sometimes society or preconceived notions would decide on what's good or what's not but it shouldn't be the case. to each his own.
i also do love helena bonham carter .i think she's very brave and she has her own personal style that's not something you'd always see in the magazine or runway. she's a real character and inspiration.

I think Helena has a point in her statement. Fashion is controlled by magazines, critics, etc which probably holds a lot of individuals back from showing their true style. Glad you brought this up!
