Philly Love

Had so much fun in Philadelphia, even though I stayed within the bounds of my hotel, I had fun hanging out in Center City, even if everything closes at about 6 on Sunday's (definitely not Miami), it was fun bundling up for the weather and checking out a few of the stores. I went to Buffalo Exchange (finally), though I didn't find anything on this trip, it was the first time that I saw guys in a thrift store actually looking for clothes for themselves. It was my first time in Philly (I also went to D.C.), but I will definitely be back (my sister decided to go to school there).

While there, went to breakfast at the Corner Bakery Cafe, had the French toast which was delish, it was a cinnamon swirl brioche dipped in vanilla custard and served with the crispy bacon ever. The other thing about Philly is that they put the number of calories for each dish on the side, very beneficial if you are trying to watch what you eat. Fortunately I was on vacation, so I didn't mind a few extra calories here and there.

Getting Ready for Philly

via

So, I am going with my sister to visit a school in Philadelphia this weekend. I am excited/scarred to be in actual cold weather. Other bloggers make layering and staying warm in cooler weather seem so easy. So here is a compilation of a few of my favorite looks from winter looks.

It is supposed to be in the 30's and 40's over the weekend, so I will do my best to layer appropriately. I also plan to try to get in a little shopping, if at all possible...so if you live in the Philly area please let me know of some cool vintage, thrift stores that I should check out and any restaurant that I must try (I already have time scheduled to grab a Philly cheesesteak).

S'more Love

My 5 year-old niece is here and insisted on making s'mores, I've made it with her before, because they're simple, easy to make and don't make to big of a mess. The graham cracker box suggests putting them in the microwave for a few seconds, but I prefer the toastiness that comes from putting them in the oven for 5 minutes or so. Enjoy!

New Favorites

I first fell in love with the idea of an orangish/tangerine lipstick after seeing it in a magazine (which one, I cannot remember). Anyway, the article discussed Revlon's new hue Siren which is a part of it's line of retro-toned lipsticks. I picked it up a few days ago and can't stop wearing it! I am not a lipstick girl, I prefer the glossiness of a good lip gloss, but this color definitely works on a variety of skin tones. My new favorite nail polish also happens to be Siren from Revlon, I picked it up when I picked up the lipstick and it's been my new go to color.

bonus photo, love how she kind of looks like a barbie doll...with pink hair :).

Those Shoes

via

I am essentially in love with those shoes, though they aren't in my price range right now (you have to believe it to receive it). These from Nine West are pretty close (ignore the chunky heel). Other shoes that I am loving...these Jeffrey Campbell's, the shoes are only 2 inches...but they are super cute.

I'm Alive, I Promise!

So, I realize that I have been absent from posting on this blog this past week, mainly because I have a new job (it's very close to my "dream" job) which has taken a lot of my focus, this weekend I will catch up on blog related work, I promise! I have a few photos of some new items I've picked up that I want to share. In the meantime, I share a smile courtesy of my favorite Starbucks barista, who not only makes the best caramel macchiattos, but she always add a little "love" to my coffee. Enjoy!
